When we signed up for FiOS, Verizon promised three free months of movie channels, but they charged us anyway. Not that I’m surprised- shenanigans like that are practically the norm, particularly in the service delivery industry. What DID surprise me was 1) how quickly they figured out they had mischarged us, and 2) their offering to crank my internet package up from “Normal” fiber optic speeds (5mb/s) to their “Ultra” speed (which I’ve read is supposed to be between 10 and 15mb/s).
They agreed to up the speed two nights ago (and they claim that I don’t need to call and unsubscribe after the month, but we’ll see), and tonight I ran a speed test:
20mb/s download and 4.8mb/s upload! Wooo hooo! Keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times, kids. 🙂
