If the “impact” of the War (yeah, the war… heard about it? It’s on the news once in awhile) seems a little confusing at times, follow these steps:
1. Read this: The Sandbox: DISTANT DEATH HITS HOME
2. Then remember that, if Anti-war.com is correct, that same scenario has happened 3,381 times, to date. 3,381 families… Imagine calling EVERYONE in your ENTIRE family to tell them about a death; the death of someone they know and love, someone defending our country. Then multiply it by 3,381; fun, isn’t it? And those are for the American casualties. The impact is even stronger for the Iraqi families, who get the tortuous pleasure of watching their local neighborhoods ravished by combat.
Thinking of the long-term repercussions of this makes me shudder.
